		<description>︎ 38 / let it centrifuge

"You have to follow it,"she said, almost to herself."Flowing currents don’t wait. They spin, they fold, they carry you pastthe things you thought you knew.Even the windows know this, wooden frames sailing, moving regardless."I stopped walking, but she kept going, gesturing faintly,as if to draw the shapesof the things she couldn’t say."Let it centrifuge," she murmured,"spin into itself. You can’t fight the flow."And as she faded into the distance,I stood still, the thin wind curling around me,wondering if I’d evercatch up.

		<description>︎ 37 / defibrillator

in this quiet, a fluttering, something
like an impulse but softer, hazier
a sense of shape in the distance
just beyond where sight dissolves

we reach for it, carefully at first
not wanting to break the spell of almost
the air itself holding its breath; we find
 ourselves indeterminate, taut

there is a strange eloquence to flailing
some fragile note held just out of tune
as limbs twist and grasp at nothing
a child feeling the weight of skin

oceans are here
being pulled in close
by a swollen sky
to feel its weight
descend from the clouds
redrawing the familiar
in rippling and decidedly
unrecognisable vibrations

I am now a hive of wings

that makes the senses
flicker and flicker until
finally the quickening
resonance accents
the brain with a tint

I am now a hive of wings

the unfurling valence of
mouths salivating purple

with the last of the
shadows on the earth
set between the far hills

[adjacent reverberation intensifies]

 a season of cheap nectar
for the thick-tongued and muddy mouths;

who taste the sourness before the sweetness,
who know how it feels to be crushed with delight;
a staccato gazing of navels between the field-licking lovers of nettles

		<description>︎ 29 / Light took a breath

"You have been so good.
You have been so brave,
so strong"
it says, gently,
as it does every morning.

As if this is a new thing it can see.
As if it is a new project.
As if the baby has not already been
sitting there for thousands of mornings
watching their life pass by.

It smiles,
it feeds, it changes,
it says,
"You have been so good".The baby knows this
before the words are said,
already drowsy with being old enough,
already drowsy with being fed,
already drowsy with being clean.

A baby, you were told.

While you were growingyou saw things others could not.
You saw the way light spotted
across your named hourglass.

You saw the way all matter
moved within and above you.
Light took a breath and became aware.
